Required Qualifications 

Bachelor Degree in a computer-related discipline and 2 - 5 years experience
in computer-related field; or 10 years experience in computer-related field.
Working skills in the following software/languages to meet the basic NASA
Portal web standards. Operating System - Windows, HTML Editor - Dreamweaver,
Web Application Development-ColdFusion and CFML, Presentation Tool -
PowerPoint, Database - SQL Server, Spreadsheet - Excel and a working
knowledge of the following software/languages/practices: HTML, Dreamweaver,
Flash and Flash Action Scripting, Visual Basic, Graphics Editor - Adobe
Photoshop, JavaScript/DHTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) required,
Fireworks, Adobe Acrobat, C/C++, Perl (optional), Flex, SQL, Captivate.
Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills with the
ability to multi-task and work in a team atmosphere required.   


Preferred Qualifications 

NASA Web CMS training and familiarity with NASA Stratcomm Standards
preferred. Experience with Subversion or other versioning systems/software
and Cold Fusion Frameworks (i.e. Model Glue or Coldbox) preferred. Aerospace
experience and familiarity with Johnson Space Center procedures highly
preferred.   


Responsibilities 

Working in consultation with various Education Project Managers, the
candidate serves as web developer responsible for design, development, and
administration of various websites critical to the implementation of
Education programs and projects at NASA Johnson Space Center. (1) Perform
hardware and software requirements definition. (2) Understand and tabulate
data associated with supported programs. (3) Pre-code quizzes and
questionnaires and set up data tables. (4) Act as team leader for assigned
projects to ensure customer satisfaction. (5) Review data tables for
completeness and accuracy. (6) Provide training and guidance for other
programmers/personnel. (7) Make recommendations that can lead to improved
operational efficiencies. (8) Design and implement management and subsequent
configuration management pertaining to the Education Websites and Web
Applications. (9) Provide oversight and technical review of system
specifications and documentation for quality assurance. (10) Provide design,
installation and system administration support for Education Websites and
Web applications. (11) Keep up to date with current web technologies and
implement technologies with NASA concurrence to web pages. (12) Coordinate
IT security efforts with the NASA Organizational Computer Security Manager
(OCSM). (13) Run Link Check monthly and correct broken links. (14) Ensure
that all published public material is 508 compliant.

Salary 

IC44 - $4,967.58 - $5,464.34 per month. Actual salary commensurate with
education and experience.   


Work Hours 

Forty (40) hours per week 
Monday through Friday 
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
Occasional evening/weekend hours are required in working with project
participants and meeting grant due dates.
