Designing Better BlackBerry PlayBook Apps

We're going to try something new this month. Research in Motion is
partnering with Adobe User Groups for a series of webinars about their
upcoming Playbook tablet.

The Playbook is RIM's new tablet. More than just a competing device to
Apple's iPad and the slew of Android tablets coming to market, it
offers some compelling advantages for the developer using Adobe
technologies. Their SDK allows you to build apps using pure HTML5 or
Adobe Air!

Also, through March 15, RIM is offering all accepted apps a free tablet:

A first for the Houston CFUG: we will be participating in an online
meeting with the following Adobe user groups:

    * KCDevCore (Kansas City Adobe RIA group)
    * LAdobe (Los Angeles Adobe User Group)
    * Los Angeles AIR User Group
    * Stateline Adobe Users (Rockford, Illinois)
    * Nor Cal Flex User Group
    * Los Angeles Flash User Group

Presenter will be Paul Bernhardt from RIM covering the following
points in a one hour presentation. Afterwards there will be some time
dedicated to Q&A to answer all your questions regarding the PlayBook.
RIM may also talk about their announcement from the Mobile World
Congress in Barcelona this week.
Agenda:

    * Overview
    * API’s to build great apps
    * Skinning with QNX UI Components
    * BlackBerry App World (submitting apps & revenue generation)
    * Q&A with RIM engineers
