We had a good turnout last night, and a full meeting. We talked about all
the latest software Adobe has sent down the pipe, and how they make our
lives as ColdFusion developers easier.

Paladin Consulting sponsored the meeting, providing pizza and drinks.

We had plenty of goodies. Paladin brought us the neatest little books,
filled with post-its. Ken even shared a massive collection of CF-related
open-source-related stickers. Selma donated a 2 inch tall Darth, who now
rules the Dark Side of Seth's cube.
Adobe sent some new CS 5.5 t-shirts, which Ken and Tom took home. See what
you missed? :-)

By the way ... we'll be giving away a Adobe license next month. Up to $2000
(pretty much everything except for Master Collection)

Upcoming meetings:

May (date TBD but likely May 25) -
"Build your App with the (Phone)Gap" - How you can build apps for
multiple mobile devices using one code base via PhoneGap (yes, apps
you can sell!) We'll also look at PhoneGap Build, a cloud-based build
solution. We'll look at how you construct service-oriented mobile apps
with ColdFusion. We'll take a deeper look at Dreamweaver CS5.5, which
has support fir PhoneGap baked-in.

June (date TBD but likely June 22) -
"Cloud Fusion" - Running ColdFusion in the cloud, specifically the Amazon
cloud, with a focus on
the Elastic Beanstalk of technologies. Will take a look at all of the
ColdFusion "engines" and the
advantages and disadvantages of each.
(Note: this meeting will be a bit early, as we are having an early meeting
in July)

July 11-
Special guest: Luis Majano, developer of the ColdBox platform. Maybe he'll
give us his secret energy drink recipe. (He hasn't said he has one, but he
must.. he's a framework and OO boss. Not to mention he has a family with a
young child. And he manages a CFUG. And has his own company. How???????)
Come get some of this ColdBox goodness. Really. Even if you're using another
MVC framework, you'll get a ton of insight into enterprise patterns just by
listening to him talk. While you're at it, sign up for his ColdBox
training.. details (and discount code!) coming soon.

Still need speakers for August and onward. :-) Contact me if you're
interested.
