I'd like to thank Luis Majano from taking time from his busy schedule to
come speak to about ColdBox. We would also like to thank Paladin for
sponsoring our meeting, providing plenty of pizza and drinks for all.

Marlon Monsalve started off our meeting by Skyping in from their Dallas
office and telling us a little about who they are and what they do. To sum
it up, Paladin wants to be a resource to developers, rather than just a
"head-hunter". Check them out at http://www.paladin-inc.com if you're in the
market for a gig or a developer.

A natural teacher, Luis started off asking questions, giving away plenty of
Coldbox-branded swag. He quickly jumped into his presentation, where he
showed us everything that ColdBox can do. We're talking more than "Hello
World!" .... he showed off ColdBox's built in caching, ORM integaration,
modules, dependency injection, and more. Excellent stuff - we hope to have
Luis back in the future to show us more, since there's a good chance he'll
be much closer in the relatively near future. :-)

Looking forward:
In August, we'll take a break from "normal" meetings, and have a
social/networking meeting, or as we like to call it, a "BeerFUG". Location
and date to be announced.
In September, Ken Auenson will talk HTML 5 (technically that doesn't exist
anymore, since they decided to drop version numbers, but we'll stick with it
for sanity's sake). He'll focus on the SQLite implementation in HTML 5 - the
ability to store data client-side, and access it via client-side
SQL.Location and date are subject to change, but tentatively will be at our
current location, September 14, 6:45 pm.
October and beyond: Up in the air. I may do a talk on architecting for and
deploying to the Amazon cloud. Hopefully we'll have a new version of
ColdFusion to discuss. :-) Want to shine? Volunteer to speak!
