John, I wasn't saying you were wrong. I said I was adding a clarification. You mentioned watching memory with both FR and Perfmon. I was explaining why the former wouldn't help in this particular situation, if someone might misconstrue what you were pointing out. The ever-present challenge of saying too little or too much. I obviously err on the latter side. :-)
But yes, using Perfmon or Task Mgr you could certainly keep an eye on total memory, or memory used by IIS. /charlie From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John M Bliss Sent: Tuesday, April 03, 2012 1:52 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [houcfug] sending email from CF > Be aware that such tools will show memory use *within the CF heap* Windows Performance Monitor should show big drops in total free RAM, if any. If you see such drops every time a send is happening and they go away when send is done and (for example) there's a corresponding increase in the amount of time to serve CF pages...well...you get the idea... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "Houston ColdFusion Users' Group" discussion list.
