Hey guys,
When using CFPRINT to print PDF documents to a network printer, I noticed
that my 300dpi images were blurry. After a lot of research, I discovered
that the java library they use for this, jPedal, is grabbing the images
from the PDF, flipping them horizontally, dropping the resolution to 72dpi,
and plopping the files into C:\Documents and
Settings\{CFservice_Username}\Local Settings\Temp\jpedal\. This obviously
is terrible for printing. 72dpi is a good screen viewing resolution, but
resolutions under 150dpi come out of the printer full of artifacts. I'm
using ColdFusion 8.0.1, and I've tried using jpg, png, and tif image
formats with resolutions of 200dpi, 300dpi, and 600dpi. Does anyone know
how I can force CFPRINT to render the images in a proper resolution? The
quality setting has no effect on the printer which is okay since the
printer doesn't do less than 300dpi by default. I've also tried playing
with pageScaling = "none" in the attributeStruct which didn't work, but
after I discovered the 72dpi flipped TIFs, I knew that is was a java
routine I couldn't hope to manipulate without help.
