Sure, Matthew. A few more thoughts: - it may be that for that OS the overriding folder is different (or it may be that while the CF Java docs mention it as the place we should put folders, maybe it doesn't really override the way we'd hope) - I hear you about the frustration you had with the CF10 classloading feature. It's got its quirks, and I cover them in my chapter of the CF10 WACK book. I've also been meaning to do a talk on the topic to share those insights, but just have been too busy - but don't forget Mark's Java loader. It may be just the ticket for you
Finally, as for your question, can you clarify? You can see the classpath in the CF Admin (on the "Java and JVM" page, as well as on the either the "settings summary" or "system information" pages, which each show both the "CF Server Java Class Path" and the "Java Class Path", which has a lot more info than is in the "Java and JVM" page.) You can also see it programmatically, by calling java methods. But I'm not sure what you mean about using the new cf10 javaSettings struct to "confirm the classpath". /charlie From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Friday, November 08, 2013 2:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [houcfug] Object Instantiation Exception. - Red Hat 6 charlie. I don't mean to kick a dead hourse here, but based on my observations on this issue, FOR Red Hat 6 install of CF10 your statement of the [cf]\wwwroot\web-inf\lib, which overrides the [cf]\lib Is not ture. That is the whole reason I had to do the iText.jar removal from the [cf]\lib I was expecting it to work in that manner, like it is on our Windows Server installs but it is not. Thus my finial solution. So what you said make perfect since to me it is just it was not working in that manner for this OS install. I did explore the new feature of CF to load the javaSettings at the application scope variable but abandoned that in the chios. I am planning on revisiting in the near term. I like dynamic loading idea. How can you confirm the ClassPath information with the javaSettings? I was not able to get that figured out. Matthew C.
