The 2000/2500 machine is a workhorse but is very outdated and those
machines are like people, they all have diffent personalities. I
would suggest not putting in anymore money into it since it is such
an old model. We have worked with alot of those machines ever since
they came out years ago and banding was always kinda an issue. We
have HP-5500's 42" refurbished (they have gone back to HP all the
parts replaced and look and run like they are brand new) these
machines also have the postcript on board rip system. They are being
resold at $3500 per unit and it sounds like it could help you out
but you can judge for yourself.
