I have made several prints using epson canvas on my DJ 130nr. The prints look great and after being coated with Premeire Art Shield they appear to be very durable.
I am printing using the roll feed as I would with the HP roll paper, but with a few differences. I turn off the cutter since it will not cut the Epson canvas (results in a nasty jam if I use it). Instead I make the custom paper size 1 foot longer then my print. This gives me enough of a feed at then end of the print to be able to cut the canvas with scissors. The next part, getting the canvas out of the printer and back on the roll, is what I am a little unsure about. Because I haven't found a way to reverse the roll feed and eject the canvas, I resort to a proceedure that I don't really like. I am also unclear whether it will damge the printer in some way. To remove the canvas, I turn of the printer and then using the roll feeder spindle, I, by hand, reverse the canvas out of the printer. It appears to be reversing the gears and spinning the carriage feed stepper motor in reverse. Am I missing something here? Is this OK? Is there a reverse form feed on the printer that does not engage the cutter? Can I disengage the carriage gears or pinch rollers in order remove the canavs? Any comments or suggestions would be welcome. Dave Rice, Atlanta ------------------------ Yahoo!
