Well I have a mac os 10.4.10 and I also have a designjet 130nr that I have been using for a year and a half and I havent been able to even install the maintenace utility!!! Everytime I tried it quits by no reason and says some kind of error happened... I have done a lot of things, I called HP thousands of times... they even sent me another cd, and the problem still there. I can print without any problem, but when I need to use the maintenance utility I gave up with my mac... I ended up using a pc for that matter. I dont know why HP dont adress this problem... I know this is not very helpful but that was the best solution I could find!

I suppose I must retain my sense of the absurd here - At least the "system maintenance utility is exited because it is unable to communicate with the printer." I'm darned if I am!!
