Don,
After adding some more debug statements( setup, base/device.py
getSupportedCUPSDevices ), it looks like its dying in cupsext.getPrinters.
From strace, I'm guessing that getPrinters is from
/usr/lib64/python2.3/site-packages/cupsext.so
Maybe its a bug in cups?
I rebuilt with debug. Its coring at cupsext.c 398;
PyList_SET_ITEM( printer_list, i, (PyObject *)printer );
printer_list and printer seem valid, but then I'm not sure what I'm
looking at. They are not NULL at any rate. i = i.
Anything else I can poke around for?
