ok... let's admit it.
I am a rookie.
In my new job I found several computers running with Red Hat 9, printing with
Canon S100, ... now it's time to replace the printers.
We are considering HP Deskjet 3920, but ...
Installing the drivers is, saying the least, ... cumbersome.
Can you help?
We bought a Lexmark Z35 two years ago, and installing the driver was a breeze,
Why is so difficult with HP?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks for all.

Well, HPLIP isn't really the solution that will work best in your
situation - RH 9 is too old for us to support with HPLIP (the libraries
and dependencies on RH 9 are too old).
Instead, just use HPIJS with CUPS or LPRng. HPIJS should already be
installed on your computer, the only question is whether it is a new
enough version to include the 3920. You may need to get an RPM or use
YUM(?) to update the the newest version. Then, its just a matter of
setting the printer up using whatever setup method you'd like to use.
