Yes.

What the printer actually does, depends on the
"PostScript invocation values" in the PPD file.
If it is a PostScript printer, it depends only on those values.
If it is a non-PostScript printer, it depends on how those values
are evaluated by the filtering system (i.e. which printer specific
data is actually sent to the printer depending on those values).
