Don't most print servers simply use the lpd/lpr protocol?  That's the
way I tell mine to work from Windows and I have got it working from
Windows NT, Windows 95 and Windows XP that way.  It also works fine
with CUPS already.

As I said it's not a big problem, the printer already works fine with
CUPS, it would just be a nice extra.
