Is the printer going through a hub of any sort? Is it detected on another computer? Does it print if using the usb backend?

Can you run hp-check and post the output?

also run:

/usr/lib/cups/backend/hp

and post that output as well.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I have an HP OfficeJet 5515, run with HPLIP 1.6.9 (an some earlier
versions) on Suse 10.1
Printing under CUPS works fine, but all hp tools, including hp-toolbox,
hp-setup etc. will stop with "error: Unsupported printer model."

/usr/lib/cups/backend/hp will say
direct hp:/no_device_found "Unknown" "hp no_device_found"

This surprises me, as my officejet is explicitely listed in your
supported devices.

I don't care so much about HP-toolbox, but I would really like to scan
and greatly appreciate your help.

Best Regards,
Michael
