Hi, First of all: my printer works almost flawlessly using Linux, which is a big plus (among others because at the moment Windows gives a BSOD after 3 minutes ;) ). The only serious problem I found was that the CD wasn't printed right, for which I guess the templates are to blame (found at http://hplip.sourceforge.net/howtos/printing.html#cddvd) I can see residue on the non-printable area at the left side, on the hole, and I see a blank curve at the right and 2 blank circles at the center. http://www.mvdvlist.nl/cd-printout-wrong.jpg for a picture of it. If necessary, I can highlight the residue area's.
A design-issue of Linux (using Ubuntu 6.06) that caught my attention, was the number of settings I had to make. I have to change the settings to CD from the Gnome- or cups-interface every time I want to print CDs. Why can't that be in glabels? Maybe I can make 3 printers for the same printer: one for pictures, one for CDs, and one for regular texts, but in some way, I don't like it. In Windows that part of the architecture is better (or I don't understand the gnome interfaces ;)). Martin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
