Hello al of you reading the list.

I had something weird?
Was installing a psc-1350 (1300) on a brand new Slackware 11.
I installed the newest hplip package but found out there was a hpijs
package to.
So i removed that package (the package manager saved the shared files
and hpijs in incuided in hplip to)
Installed the printer in cups with the hp device manager and it all
worked in at once , also the xsane worked.
So that was i it (i thought)
Few days later ( ididnt use the printer) i noticed that hpiod failed to
load?
So i tried the hp device manager and it would not start

/lib/modules/2.4.33.3/kernel/drivers/hotplug/shpchp.o.gz: insmod shpchp

p.hpiod_port)) File "<string>", line 1, in connect error: (111,
'Connection refused')

So i stopped cups and hplip and tried to start hpiod and it said

hpiod: error while loading shared libraries: libnetsnmp.so.15: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

Now netsnmp isnt in de standard Slack distro but luckely there is
package for it ( thanks Ken Zalewski )
so i installed the package and started hplip without a problem !

But i still dont understand why i worked before?
Anyone got a clue?

Eddy
