I've attached as plain text the output of hp-check.
It seems that the kernel module ppdev is missing, but it wasn't
called as a required dependency by yum, the package manager.
My OJ1150Pro really prints (on the parallel port), how may this
cause trouble? Am I supposed to (compile it and) load it as a
separate kernel module?

I've got an ASUS A7V600 motherboard and I never changed the default
configuration for the parallel port, and it always worked under Linux.
There are apparently no configuration parameters for the LPT, except for
the deactivating option.
Feel free to ask me all the specific technical stuff you need.

Thanks,
        Claudio A. Andreoni
