Peter, we need more specific information about this problem in order to
help. We have not been able to reproduce this problem.

1. Show us the output of the syslog during scanning and printing.
2. Show us the output of the CUPS "error_log" with DEBUG on.
3. Show us the output of hp-check.
4. Is this one configuration? Have you tried other PCs, MFPs or Distros?
