I just read this and I am wondering how were you able to scan using "* I've
worked on this problem for 2 weeks now to no avail (although I can scan over
http://192.168.1.105 where the HP interface opens up) I just can't get the
scanner to be recognized under sane or xsane."
*I would like to try that out, any advice, tutorials? I would like to scan.*

had errors on the install) It keeps saying I need libnetsnmp-devel

*My printer works fine, but sane can't find my scanner.
I've opened up ports 2207 2208 (which I presume are for the scanner) and
9100 9101 9102 which I had to use to finally get my HP printer working.
I've worked on this problem for 2 weeks now to no avail (although I can
scan over http://192.168.1.105 where the HP interface opens up) I just
can't get the scanner to be recognized under sane or xsane.*
