The libsane-hpaio backend will determine the x/y geometry at runtime for
SCL scanners. I have a PS 2710 that reports the same 381mm for the
top-left y position. Looks like the all-in-ones based on this platform
do not report the scan length correctly. 

You can correct this by setting your x/y scan area with scanimage
geometry commands (ie: -y 300). In xsane you can also set the page size
in the preview window. Either method will eliminate the extra padded
lines that results from the incorrect length.
