I installed HPLIP 1.7.2 on FC6 under Gnome to try to fix a problem I was
having with my printer. Before the installation, the scanning feature of my
Photosmart 2570 worked just fine from Applications/Graphics/Scanning Tools.
Now that HPLIP is installed, the Scanning Tools do not even appear on the
menu.
Here is what I did:
Put HPLIP-1.7.2.run in my home directory, opened a terminal and ran sh
HPLIP-1.72.run. I have shown the result of that effort below. I noticed
sane and xsane dependencies never got resolved. I am a certain as I can be
that I had an internet connection while the installation process ran and
that I had diabled SELinux.
Will someone please point out what I did wrong and how might I go about
fixing it at this point?
Thank you.
