I assume you use one of my RPMs for testing from
http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/jsmeix/
but of course I can only guess because you didn't tell
which exact HPLIP software package you are using.

The latest changelog entry of my current RPM for testing is:
--------------------------------------------------------------
- Updated to version 1.7.3:
Many bug fixes (no Suse bugs).
No new supported models but enhancements for some models.
  For details see release_notes.html
--------------------------------------------------------------
If I fix bugs for which we have a Suse Bugzilla bug entry,
I must mention our Bugzilla bug number in the RPM changelog
like "(Suse Bugzilla bug #244451)".
The "(no Suse bugs)" is to make clear that I didn't forget to
mention our Bugzilla bug number because those bug fixes
are actually bug fixes made by HP. The details are listed
in HP's release_notes.html which is included in the RPM:
/usr/share/doc/packages/hplip/release_notes.html

By the way:
Faxing works well for me.

Kind Regards
Johannes Meixner
