Hi,

I am running Kubuntu Linux 6.10 and have set up my HP 855C deskjet using
the HPLIP driver. Set up seemed to go without any glitches that I could
detect. It printed a test page which looked ok although the color wheel was
not colorful - I don't think my color ink cartridge is working (out of ink)
- but I normally print in black draft anyway. The test page printed slowly
compared to my experience with the same printer under Windows 2000. I have
used the printer a couple of times since I installed the driver (I used the
recommended driver - Foomatic/hpijs, CUPS v1.1.x) and the printer printed
VERY slowly. I am not sure why and I am not sure what to look for in any
case. I was printing in normal print mode the first time and greyscale the
second time and they were both slow. This printer is very FAST in windows. I
am new to linux. I've only been using it for a week now and I do not know
what I need to do to configure it or if I chose the correct settings while
installing the
printer/driver. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Jim
