Hplip did not work in setting up my HP 4050 or a 4000n printer on a regular parallel port. While the printer setup detected each device correctly and set it up on 'parport0'; neither device would print. I could set up either device on LPT1 and the device would print but would use the wrong paper tray, Tray 1, which is a temp tray with a paper pickup that works poorly. I want to use tray 2 and, in fact, the Hplip parameters for the printer are set for tray 2. This program is apparently in need of tweaking.
