Hi all, I need to install a printer ( HP 3845 ) in a red hat 7.x (with a 2.6.11 kernel version). The driver that i found need HJIJS, but to install it I need to have a X running, and i dont have it.
i have cups running on the system with a GoshtScript( compiled for a system without X). I already have the file .PPD of the printer, but when a ADDed this new printer in CUPS and set the device to /dev/usb/lp0 the printer dosent do nothing when i tell it to print (with lpr command). Don't I have to make a new device in /usr/lib/cups/backend ? If yes, how do I do it!? Anyone can help me with what i can do to install this print ONLY BY CONSOLE without any grafic interface!?
