Hi, I've been banging my head with this but I'm not able to solve these issues:
1) Pages are not printed properly, margins are asymmetric. It improved quite a lot when I changed from "Letter" to "A4" (before this change the right border of the test page wouldn't show) but I still have the left margin twice as big as the right one. 2) Scanner device not detected. scanimage -L doesn't show it and ls /dev/video* only has an extry which is for my TV card. 3) Printer not available when running hp-toolbox as user. I can't even try the scanner (xsane told me not to use it as root). Error message: error: Unable to communicate with device (code=12): hp:/usb Photosmart_C3100_series?serial=XXXXXXXXXXX warning: Device not found My configure: ./configure --enable-network-build --enable-pp-build --enable-scan-build --enable-gui-build --enable-fax-build --enable-foomatic-ppd-install --with-hpppddir=/usr/share/ppd/hpijs/HP hp-check says no errors or warning but there is one warning: "Device URI: (Makeuri FAILED)" What a nightmare... I bought this printer because I read that some people had it working, including the scanner. But I can't get anything to work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
