The Ant Who Was Lazy

There once was an Ant who didn't like to work.

All the other ants spent their days moving earth around the ant pile.

Lazy Ant would stare at the flowers.

Lazy Ant would write poetry.

Lazy Ant would paint pictures.

Lazy Ant would build sculptures.

At night when all the hard working ants would gather in the dining hall, Lazy Ant would sing them songs and tell them stories.

The worker ants laughed at Lazy Ants antics.

They went to be with smiles on their faces.

One day a group of middle management ants came up to Lazy Ant, to say,

"Lazy Ant you are not moving earth around the ant pile, so we have to ask you to leave!"

Lazy Ant just sighed and packed up his paint brushes, tools, pens, and paper.

With a blink of an eye, he was gone.

That night when the worker ants gathered for supper in the dining hall, ther was no one to tell them stories or sing them songs.

The middle management ants told the worker ants,

"The ant pile cannot afford to have a Lazy Ant around!"

"But he told us stories"

said one ant.

"He sang us songs

agreed another ant

"Hey! He painted the mural in the Dining Hall"

said yet another ant .

The question of this story is then,

Was the Lazy Ant really lazy?
