Hello all! My name is Jessie McKenna and I am the CEO and Lead Director of Activities for the new art-and-music-focused community center on Beacon Ave, ROCKiT space. I wanted to formally introduce myself and ROCKiT to the Beacon HIll mailing list and give you all an idea of what we are and what we're doing. We're a small-ish space (located in the old Buggy building), but there is a whole lot going on! * ROCKiT space is... ...a neighborhood place for art and music*: Drop in anytime and for $5 a day you can use our stuff and out space to make art and music! (monthly, yearly and family memberships available). * **... a band rehearsal space*: An awesome place to gather, practice, jam…..and totally affordable. *... a private event space*: Have your next birthday party at ROCKiT space! Make art, play games, jam with your friends in our rehearsal room. Grab the mic and one of our instruments and ROCKiT!! *Upcoming ROCKiT Events:* * Open Mic*: Saturdays, 7-10pm. Come on by to watch, listen or perform. All art forms welcome. *Kids Programs*: Facilitated by our own Jessie McKenna-- nanny by day and all the time artist. * Sundays noon – 1pm*, Jessie leads Kids' Dance, a dance and movement class, most fun for kids walking age to 9yrs. * Sundays 1pm – 2pm*, Jessie leads Sing & Play, a music time for kids ages 0 to 6+ yrs. Both Kids' Dance and Sing & Play are welcome to all, drop in any time! $5 per child for the entire day. *Music Time with Marc Smason*: Introductory group music classes for kids and teenagers age 6-18yrs begin January 11th on Monday and Tuesday afternoons for.
