Subject: [dorkbotsea-announce] Coming soon: stability for Dorkbot- Seattle!

With the beginning of the new decade, dorkbot-sea is happy to restart our series of monthly meetings.

As per tradition, we will be meeting on the first Wednesday of the month, from 7:00 - 10:00 pm, beginning in February. Thanks to the support of the UW's Division of Design, in the School of Art, we'll be able to use a space on campus for the meetings. (We are grateful to Professor Karen Cheng for this generous offer.)

Here is the schedule of themes for these meetings:
• February 3rd: Fab Lab: An evening of speakers about and hopefully a demonstration of the DIY fabrication technologies that have recently become accessible to all dorks, even those on tight budgets. • March 3rd: Kit Night: Learn about soldering and basic electronics with a choice of simple kits and some experienced electronics tinkerers to help you out. • April 7th: Education: Speakers sharing experience about running educational events. • May 5th: DIY Biology: Technology hacking is old school! Learn about the possibilities now open for hacking biotech and genomics.

Once we finalize the arrangements for the venue and our speakers, we'll send out more detailed information.

Keep an eye on http://dorkbot.org/dorkbotsea/ and twitter user @dorkbotsea for more info, and watch for a brand new website to be launched there in the near future.
