Piksel is involved in several off-festival activities throughout
2010, both
locally in Bergen, nationally and in collaborative projects
internationally.
These activities are named Piksel Pulse.

■■ 2. CIRCUIT BENDING [workshop]
22nd-26th March, Piksel has invited sound artist and instrument maker,
Audun Eriksen, to host a circuit bending workshop in Bergen.
The 5 day workshop aims to give the participants the opportunity of
learning how to short-circuit existing audio toys and instruments to
reveal
new soundsscapes.

■■ 3. PIKSEL PLENUM [seminar]
Electronic art is more closely connected to the development of
technology than
any other art genre. New technology creates new opportunities for
artists and
developers, and with that follows the discussion of copyright, IPR and
distribution rights.
In 2009 Piksel started a seminar series, Piksel Plenum, that set
focus on such
socio-political questions. In 2010 we plan to host 3 Plenum events, by
inviting various thinkers and artists to give presentations and be
involved in
discussions at Landmark, Bergen Kunsthall.
Piksel Plenum #1 2010 is taking place in April, and this year we
work with
ambient seminar as the form for the Plenum events. The immersive
character of
this type of seminar places the audience in the centre of attention,
and in
addition to presentations the evenings will include visual and
musical
references presented through a relevant selection of media and
communication
technology.'

Piksel will curate one of the cinema programs for the Meta.Morf
Biennale in
Trondheim in collaboration with TEKS (Trondheim Electronic Art
Centre).
Meta Morf is a biennale for arts and technology taking place in
Trondheim
(NO) Oct. 7th - Nov. 7th. This years theme is "Brave New World"
