Speakers and topics:

Kevin Reed: "Using robots to make engineers"
Kevin is the Washington State director for FIRST Lego League, an
international program that uses the LEGO Mindstorms robotic system to
inspire 9-14 yr old students to consider careers in science and
technology. Kevin also serves on the board of FIRST Washington which
provides FIRST robotics programs to thousands of Washington students
from 6 to 18 years old. In his spare time away from FIRST Kevin is the
Vice President of Operations at a manufacturing company in Woodinville

Sarah Kriz: "Promoting Awareness of Human-Centered Robot Design"
Sarah is an assistant professor in the Department of Human Centered
Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. She earned her
PhD in psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara in
2006. Her research on robotics focuses on the general public's
understanding of robots' capabilities, and has included work on how
robots are represented in popular American films, as well as how
people structure their speech during their first interaction with a
robot.

Steve Kaehler: "How Do You Build A Robot?"
Steve has been both a contributor and organizer of the Seattle
Robotics Society for 12 years. This includes involvement in the yearly
Robothon event, which pits many makers of robots against each other in
several event. He has built robots and is a leader in this field.
