Hello everyone!,

It is my pleasure to announce this months new moon salon will
feature classical guitarist Sean Owen.

Sean V. Owen was born on Whidbey Island in 1975. His formal musical education includes a Bachelors of Music from Cornish College of the Arts, two Masters of Music degrees from the New England Conservatory, a Masters of Music degree from King's College London, and a Ph.D. from the University of Southampton. He received guitar instructions from Steven Novacek, David Leisner, Michael Lewin, and Eliot Fisk. As a musicologist he is primarily interested in the music of the Vihuelistas and the life and music of Kaikhosru Sharpurji Sorabji (1892-1988); Sean is in the preparations of making several recordings, some of which include an album of vihuela music, original compositions and arrangements of Tàrrega, and transcriptions of songs from the last Hawaiian Queen, Lili'uokalnai.
