I want to share with you a fantastic art auction and benefit event that
I am on the host committee for (and have donated a piece to), called

19th. The event is to benefit my dear friend Heather Hart, who is
battling breast cancer, more info below.
Lady Rizo and Reggie Watts will both be performing (they're awesome -
please YouTube them if you're not familiar), as well as hosting the
live auction. Over fifty diversely talented artists have donated
works, including Mickalene Thomas and many other greats.

New York, NY – Heart for Hart is a fundraiser and art auction for
artist Heather Hart and her current battle with breast cancer. The
event will be hosted by Reggie Watts and Lady Rizo, and will feature
works by Martha Rosler, Oliver Herring, Stephen Westfall, Terry Adkins,
Hank Willis Thomas, Mike Cloud, Rico Gatson, Mickalene Thomas, Saya
Woolfalk, Simone Leigh, Tim Okamura, Jazz-minh Moore, Pablo Helguera,
Trong Gia Nguyen, William Cordova, Jamel Shabazz and many more.
Heather Hart is a Brooklyn-based installation artist who in June 2011
was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Since her
diagnosis, Heather has undergone several surgeries in addition to
radiation and months of chemotherapy treatment to tackle the disease.
Unfortunately, even with insurance, the costs involved with these
treatments are astronomical. Family, friends and peers of
[9]Heather Hart have organized the [10]Heart for Hart fundraiser and
art auction as a way to help to cover medical expenses associated with
her breast cancer treatment.
An array of diversely talented artists and creatives have banded
together by generously donating their time, efforts and artwork in the
support of raising money for the [11]Heart for Hart fundraiser and art
auction. This committee calls upon the support of the greater creative
community to stand behind one woman’s perseverance, determination and
resolve to overcome life’s obstacles through achieving a dream.
