*Mandatory Skills:* Advanced proficiency with PL/SQL, SQLoader, SQL*PLUS and other Oracle database technologies Knowledge of factors that affect performance within Oracle development; Index design, partitioning, and bulk processing. Experience with application development support software packages Working knowledge of Oracle 11g a plus. Experience with TOAD, Subversion and Perl a plus. Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica a plus Experience with Cognos 10 Report Development or other data reporting tool a plus. *Basic Functions:* • Acts as the principal designer for major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. • Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, and implements efficient solutions involving diverse platforms, software, technologies and tools. Characteristic Functions and Responsibilities • Provides complete technical management and leadership on large IT initiatives. • Highly accountable for effectiveness, quality, and timeliness of project design decisions • Consults business at the highest technical level on all phases of Application Development lifecycle. • Works with management to identify and specify extremely complex business requirements and processes. • Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and delivers proposals that meet business needs. • Analyzes existing systems against IT and business strategies and makes well-defined recommendations and execution plans for efficiency and architecture/design improvements within and outside the execution of current projects. • Devises application program solutions based on business problems. • Acts as expert technical resource to others on new technologies, design techniques, etc. • Defines and manages technical standards including coding, testing, and methodology for team • Primary owner of presenting and obtaining approval for project and system technical artifacts to IT management • Designs major enhancements to existing systems. • Creates software artifacts, from which the new system will be created, for developers. • Reviews physical and technical designs of systems, ensuring sound decisions are being made. • May assist in all levels of supervision and may perform management functions. • May have responsibility for interviewing, hiring, and when necessary, disciplinary action and terminations. • Professionally develops members of the team: • Provides regular, constructive feedback, guidance, and support. • Identifies training and development needs. • Ensures depth in application and technology expertise. • May provide input into annual and semi-annual reviews. • May perform the role of project lead on projects. • Enforces the reduction in duplicate processes, code, etc. • Communicates status to the project manager. • Creates and champions strategic vision. • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff. • Demonstrates a strong ability to communicate effectively within the development team • Demonstrates a strong ability to work independently to implement functionality from business requirements or high level technical design • May assist in production issue resolution.
