*Location: Atlanta, GA.* *Duration: **6 months Contract.* *Skype call (in person for a local candidate) will be mandatory.* *No client interview is required*. *Job Description : * Opening in Atlanta, GA for a DB2 DBA (LUW) for supporting a core processing system that is moving from Oracle to DB2. The successful candidate should have a good track record as a DB2 DBA and will be expected to support the DEV and QA instances. They will be required to demonstrate a mature and constructive approach to troubleshooting. *Duties & Responsibilities: * Development duties will include · Support DEV and QA teams for all DB instances required · Communication with users to gather requirements and analyze/address issues · Investigating and fixing bugs / Participating in test execution cycles · Interact with other technology groups as needed · Coordinate with users and developers located in different geographic regions Skill, Experience & General information Required: *Basic* *Technical* *Requirements* · DB2 – LUW Database Administrator ( UDB / DB2 DBA ) having 8-10 Years of UDB database technology. · .In depth experience with DB2 UDB installation, configuration, creation of databases, maintenance and other administrative activities. · Excellent knowledge on High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) concepts and implementations. · Expert level troubleshooting knowledge of OLTP databases. · Excellent knowledge on various Database backup and recovery of very large databases · Expert level of performance and tuning skills related to UDB databases · Excellent knowledge of UDB database/instance tuning, optimizing complex SQL statements for best possible performance · Good scripting skills to create and maintain shell scripts to automate various database related tasks · Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Desirable* *Skills* · Having migration experience from Oracle to DB2 will be an added advantage. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Having a IBM Certification in DB2 will be an added Advantage. · Good understanding of incident management and change management processes. · Knowledge on backup tools.
