Description: - Coordinates suite of SDLC GIS applications, data migration, database creation, and other GIS project modernization efforts. - Actively participates in long-term GIS project planning activities. - Organizes and delegates technical work for GIS development team members. - Communicates effectively and timely with GIS team members. - Promptly responds to management’s inquiries and project issues. - Coordinates with and provides accurate and timely project status to project manager. - Understands existing legacy and modernized GIS architecture. - Exercises independent judgment and critical thinking to investigate issues and provide solutions. - Documents algorithms and programming APIs implemented by code in an effectively and consistent manner. - Tunes, configures, and/or optimizes ArcSDE databases. - Quickly learns and adopts new technologies as needed. Required Skillsets and Abilities - 5+ years of direct experience working with GIS Tools and applications such as ESRI’s ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcGIS Server. - 5+ years’ experience working with scripting languages. Python and JavaScript knowledge are essential. - Knowledge of GIS data structures, including topology and also must be familiar with practices for editing GIS data. - Experience with ArcSDE, versioned editing, and developing applications that support GIS versioning and reconciliation. - Experience with ArcGIS server and authoring and publishing map services and geo-processing tools for server. - Experience working with JQuery and using JavaScript and Ajax/XHR to create responsive web clients that consume JSON services. - Experience with a JavaScript framework like Dojo, Ember.JS, or Angular is a plus. - Knowledge of, and ability to work with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). - Experience working with ArcPy and ESRI Geo-processing tools is a plus.
