The COGNOS Developer will utilize strong data modeling and dimensional
database skills to support the creation and maintenance of an
enterprise-wide operational tracking and business intelligence application.
The selected candidate will be responsible for working with extensive data
output from a Data Warehouse / BI source and building Power cubes and
drill-through reporting to execute and optimize cross-functional
operations-driven special initiatives. The position deliverables include
customized data extracts, tailored reports, insights and recommendations,
plus tracking mechanisms to support project management, execution and
tracking.



*Top 3 Required Skills/Experience  *

1.    Developer must have 6 years IT experience.
2.    Minimum 4 years of IBM Cognos experience designing, developing,
maintaining reports and modeling data
3.    Deliver data and insights to leaders and operational teams to use in
live production environments



*Required Skills/Experience  *

-Experience using Report Studio, Analysis Studio and Framework Manager.
Cognos Reporting Studio, Analysis Studio, Framework Manager, Cognos
Transformer, Power cubes, Oracle Database, SQL Queries
understanding/Writing/Debugging
-Experience developing and enforcing data modeling standards. Need to
handle the cubes independently.
-Experience working with relational databases and Dimensional Databases.
- Proficient in implementing user level and data level securities within
Cognos.
-Experience working with programming concepts.
-Expert in writing SQL and performance tuning SQL.
-Ability to complete solid unit testing on own work.
-Ability to create requirement documents, tech specs, unit test results,
estimation documents, road maps, and architecture diagrams.
-Ability to analyze requirements and direct to an appropriate solution that
will fit within a reasonable technically maintainable design.
-Cognos UI, Reporting Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Drill through
reports, Framework Manager, Cognos Workspace
-Experience working in Operational Data store, Data Mart and Data Warehouse
kinds of environments.
-Extensive experience working with Cognos BI Reporting tool including and
not limited to Cognos UI, Reporting Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio,
Drill through reports, Framework Manager, Cognos Workspace
-Should have worked with backend database like Oracle and SQL Server
-Good understanding on Dimensional modeling environment
-Excellent requirements gathering skills and Considerable
design/development experience background
-Comprehensive understanding of agile and waterfall development Methodology.
-Excellent Communication skill and should be able to interact well with
leadership and team members in daily meetings.
-Practical experience in Problem solving / troubleshooting experience
/skills to assist defect fixes during deployment period
-Ability / Flexibility to learn and open to the new technology in the space
and support the same as needed
-Knowledge on other BI tools like Microstrategy and Tableau is a plus
-Experience with Healthcare or Insurance sectors
-Experience in Data Definition Language or Data Manipulation Language SQL
commands, Access, Excel, other data manipulation tools
-Experience extracting data and identifying trends and opportunities
-Flexible nature that can `go with the flow- yet apply urgency and
prioritization to Hot Topics on a daily basis
-Organization and focus on details- Excellent Analytical skills
-Curious and investigative mindset
-High sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial spirit combined with a
disciplined analytical approach based upon facts and data

*Education/Certifications*

Technical degree, preferably in computer science, mathematics or other
related discipline
-3+ years of data analysis with technology development or data modeling
experience
-Certification in Cognos is preferred.





*2.       **Job Title: Technical Release Manager *

*Location: Chicago, IL*



*Description:*   This position is responsible for managing a matrixed team
that analyzes requirements, designs, develops, tests, and implements major
data releases and initiatives, coordinating across technologies, and as
appropriate, manages relationships between the Information Management and
Analytics Department and internal/external client organizations. Position
includes management of department/project budgets, workload balancing and
developing strategies and processes, and understanding the technical
components of a variety of data repositories, and leading process
improvement projects.



*Requirements: *

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or
other related field. Or equivalent work experience. ·

·         10 years of IT work experience with at least 5 years related to
release management.

·         Proficient in the use of project management, spreadsheet and
database query tools.

·         Has subject matter expertise in release management process. ·

·         Recognized as an expert within HCSC · Anticipates internal and or
external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process,
product or service improvements ·

·         Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on
the business · Contributes to the development of functional strategy ·

·         Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives ·
Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business
requirements
