Duration: 4+ Months Contract Statement of Work: This role will suit an experienced SAS developer with a strong technical background. It requires an ability to engage with other software engineers, QA, functional analysts, and project management. The customer is looking for TWO resources to fill these positions. *Major responsibilities include: * Creating applications according to the identified & documented business requirements & functional and architectural specifications. Providing effort estimates on multiple work-streams and articulating to both technical leads. Participating the architecture and design discussions with the functional architect to produce robust and streamlined code to meet customer needs. *Primary Skill set* *Responsibilities: * Develop Base SAS source code, including descriptions, for all platform components in accordance with Detailed Software Requirements specification, the functional design and the technical design document or backlog Design application components to meet business requirements and application design Assess and identify mitigation for risks, including those related to high level design, integration, and data quality Participate in design reviews Ensure architectural changes (as defined by Architects) are implemented Provide Level 3 support for technical infrastructure components (i.e., databases, middleware and user interfaces) Contribute to root cause /problem analysis Participate and resolve findings in reviews (4 eyes principle) of developed source code Verify integrated software components by unit and integrate software testing according to the software test plan. Software test findings must be resolved Ensure that all code changes are tracked and recorded through a change management process and that development is scheduled and approved Provide Release Deployments on non-Production Management controlled environments Capture Build and Deployment notes, develop Software Product Deployment & Operating Instructions Perform technical change requests scheduled according to Release Management processes Fix software defects/bugs Measure and analyze code for quality Collaborate with Functional Analysts and technical Specialists to complete work, as required *Skills and Competence:* SAS coding fluency – high comfort level writing data step, proc (especially SQL) & macro code Experience with SAS server environment - especially SAS Metadata Server, SAS Access, and SAS LASR Server Ability to query and comprehend large-scale databases Solid UNIX experience and ability to perform basic file searching & editing functions Knowledge of networking concepts such as SSH and NFS.
