Build servers from kickstart, scripts, VMware templates, and ISO images. 2. Performing configuration, installation, migration, maintenance, administration and tuning 3. Work with managed service provider to complete server build tasks. 4. Write and troubleshoot scripts to automate system administration tasks 5. Handle work requests from multiple customers and deliver in a timely manner 6. Effectively communicate impact and risk mitigation with customers for global service changes 7. Plan, coordinate, and implement OS patches to meet security requirements and corporate standards 8. Develop standards and guidelines for the use of RHEL and Solaris servers for various data centers and MSP(s). 9. Serve as second-tier support for enterprise infrastructure when needed 10. Participate in on-call support escalation rotation when needed 11. Translate business needs into actionable deliverables 12. Act as the liaison between IT verticals, vendors, the business, and the infrastructure teams 13. Develop and present business case and related ROI to senior management for justification of investment in upgrades or replacement of hardware/software 14. Performing patch management, upgrades and installations 15. Handling technical escalation from clients 16. Perform proof of concept for new technologies, and working on technology and service improvement 17. Efficiently providing proactive support through change management and capacity planning 18. Documenting procedures and processes related to systems administration *Qualification: * • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field, or equivalent experience. • 8-10 years experience is required. REHL 5 or 6 is a must and Solaris 10 or 11 experiences is preferred. • Must be able to build multiple servers from kickstart, scripts, VMware templates, and ISO images. • Must have strong scripting skills in one of ksh, csh, bash, Perl, or Python, and a strong background in troubleshooting of automation. • Demonstrated expertise with enterprise infrastructure software, such as Veritas Operations Manager, IBM License Metric Tool, Tivoli/IBM Endpoint Manager, and Oracle Enterprise Manager • Working experience with Managed Service Provider • Ability to work with 3rd party off the shelf software providers to drive changes to their product • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Can lead both technical and non-technical discussions. • Ability to communicate effectively with both peer engineers and leadership • Excellent team player.
