It's not FancyIndexing that we need.  We just need "Options Indexes",
which already does work (see http://www.htdig.org/mail/).  I think the
problem might be that SF's Apache won't allow us to use symbolic links,
like the one we have pointing "files" to the FTP area.  I tried putting
"Options FollowSymLinks" in /home/groups/h/ht/htdig/htdocs/.htaccess,
but that didn't help.  Our only option, if they won't allow us to override
FollowSymLinks, would be to duplicate the whole /home/groups/ftp/pub/htdig
tree under /home/groups/h/ht/htdig/htdocs/files.  The way I see it,
they're just shooting themselves in the foot.
