Thanks, Lachlan.  Unfortunately I won't have time to tackle this in the
next day or two, but I'll try to get them in before week's end, so that
they make it into the next snapshot.

Sounds good.  If it's simple enough to do so, I may backport this to 3.1.7
when I finally get around to working on that.

In retrospect, I think it makes more sense to do the rewrites first off,
before anything else, as 3.2 does.  I'll likely change 3.1.7 to do likewise.
But 3.2 does need a rewrite call in got_redirect as well.
