Someone just reported this as a bug...
I suggested replacing the "&not;" entity by a "&euro;" entity (see 
attached patch).  That is a real hack, since the "&#xxx;" 
representation of "&not;" will be incorrectly displayed as a euro 
sign instead of a not, but it should do until we get unicode support.

Should we commit this hack, or just leave it as an optional patch?

I think it would be a good idea to handle Euros correctly (as €), given 
that 12 of the 25 EU states) use it as legal tender (probably accounting 
for more than half of the 450 Million Citizens of the EU
