took a look at rundig script, just wondering if htpurge, htnotify, and
htfuzzy are required? what is the difference between running and not
running those tools?
another thing, do i have to run htmerge every time i finished running
htdig? according to htmerge's document:
"Htmerge is used to create a document index and word database from
the files that were created by htdig. These databases are then used
by htsearch to perform the actual searched."
it seems to me that it needs to be run every time htdig finishes. (both
init dig and update dig) is that right? however, i believe the database
created by htdig can be searched by htsearch without having run htmerge.
so what's htmerge for?
sorry if these questions have been asked many times before, i tried
to find recent mail regarding this but couldn't. oh by the way, i'm
running snapshot 2001/01/07 of htdig.
