It's OK.  I usually only get very mildly annoyed by off-list htdig mail.
I do give priority to mail on the list, though.

I suspected as much.  Not sure where that file was, though.  In my builds,
such stuff seems to be restricted to CONFIG.  Note too that CONFIG is
regenerated whenever you run ./configure, so you'll lose any previous
edits to CONFIG.

Use the --prefix option to xpdf's ./configure program.
