I have been searching for a freeware search engine to install on Windows2000/IIS server for our Intranet. No luck, all the matches I investigated were all the major non-open source ones.
We currently have htDig in a SUSE Linux environment on an IBM mainframe; so I search on "HTDIG"; got to your site and liked what I read. Among your FAQs, I found that Jim Kerslake of England has succeeded installing htDig on three Windows platforms: Windows 98 PC, Windows NT 4 Workstation, and Windows NT 4 Server running IIS. Has anyone installed htDig on Windows 2000 running IIS? Could anyone suggest an alternative? Could anyone suggest better search words than varients of "free search engine"?
