I am a starter with htdig and wanting to understand its capabilities first:
I understand that a found word in search will return a predesignated portion of the document to present with the hit....somewhere i read a recommended amount of 512 bytes. I have approximate 150 k text newsletters to present in an archive....of course this is many scrolled screens deep. I would like to keep each newsletter as a consolidated html document...and can insert anchors at the beginning of each short article in a monthly newsletter. I have seen add_anchors_to_excerpt "If set to true, the first occurrence of each matched word in the excerpt will be linked to the closest anchor in the document " My question: Does this mean it is linked to NEAREST or NEAREST ABOVE anchor. An anchor is usually at the beginning of a particular section of interest (where the title or subheading lives)....it would be confusing for the excerpt to rake someone to the anchor of the next region. If ABOVE is not a default behavior, can someone point me to the tools to make sure that the linked anchor is the NEAREST ABOVE Tyrus Maynard _______________________________________________ htdig-general mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, send a message to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with a subject of unsubscribe FAQ: http://htdig.sourceforge.net/FAQ.html
