Thanks Gilles,
Very wierd, I solved my indexing problems by quitting my browser, then
relaunching between indexing sessions (?????). My path to the config file
was off too (doh), that's where the error was coming from but the indexing
was only taking the default page, quitting the browser between index.cgi
sessions fixed that.  Then I went in and added the header and footer strings
to the config file myself, works like a charm now.
