Hi, all. There have been several questions about building the 3.2 betas on Solaris 8 and I haven't found anything in the FAQ or list archive that puts all the hints and tips together in one place.
The following changes to the "out of the box" configure and compile have been working for me with the past few snapshots of 3.2b4 on Solaris 8 (SunOs 5.8) with gcc 2.95.2. Caveat: I've been doing straightforward indexing and searching; I haven't tested each and every utility (htdump, htload, etc.). 1. Configure using --disable-shared. 2. After configuring, remove references to -I/usr/include from makefiles. It looks like this is only necessary for db/ and htlib/. One quick way to do this is: perl -pi.bak 's!-I/usr/include!!g' db/Makefile htlib/Makefile 3. When compiling, make sure LD_RUN_DIR is set to the path to your libstdc++: LD_RUN_DIR=/path/to/lib make all Neil Kohl Manager, ACP-ASIM Online American College of Physicians - American Society of Internal Medicine [EMAIL PROTECTED] 215.351.2638, 800.523.1546 x2638 _______________________________________________ htdig-general mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, send a message to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with a subject of unsubscribe FAQ: http://htdig.sourceforge.net/FAQ.html
