Hi Stefan,

Try increasing the number of 'v's as in:
rundig -vvvvv

You should see a detailed track as to why its not retrieving anything from 
your start url.  Also check your web logs to see if it explains anything 
about what is failing.  I have often seen this when what htdig is trying 
to start w/ failed, due to redirects or permissions etc.
